Indonesian Police Chief Bambang Danuri reveal on Friday (07/17) the device used on suicide bombing at J.W Marriott and Ritz Carlton have a similar feature with the device found by the police during raid on terrorist group suspected hideout in Cilacap Central Java last week and Malang East Java in late June.

The group belong to Nurdin Top, a Malaysian born bomb-maker wanted by Indonesian police for his involvement in a string of deadly attack in Jakarta and Bali.

The suicide bombing on Friday morning at J.W Lounge at Marriott Hotel and Airlangga Restaurant at Ritz Carlton also bear the signature  of tactics and bomb devices, packed with nails, ball bearings, nut and bolt to cause maximum carnage, used by Nurdin.

Ansyad Mbai, Chief of Anti-terrorism desk at Coordinating Ministry of Political, Legal and Security Saturday (07/18) said "It was clear from the way the attack were carried out".

"Beside an undetonated bomb founded by the police in J.W Marriot Hotel room 1808 and an examination of the bomb site have confirmed the explosives were similar to those previously used by Nurdin Top" Ansyad added.

"The terrorist group wanted to send a strong message to show their capability and spirit remain strong, and using the Manchester United event, they wanted to attract international attention", Ansyad Mbai said further.

Nurdin Top were allegedly played a leading role in planning and executing some major terrorist attack in recent year including October 2002 Bali bombing that killed 202 people, August 2003 Marriot's hotel bombing that left 12 people dead, September 2004 Australian Embassy attack in Jakarta and October 2005 bombing in Jimbaran and Kuta Bali.

Sidney Jones in an interview with Detik.com on Sunday (07/19) said "Nurdin previously a  Jemaah Islamiah (JI) member, he has set up a splinter group with some of JI Member also join in but does not follow JI Instruction".

Nurdin believed to set up the group after Dr Azhari was killed by police during a raid on his hideout in Malang November 2005.

Indonesian police last month had track Nurdin in Central Java, early July local police believed they had him in Bogor and last week, a raid on his father-in-law's house in Cilacap uncovered a bombs device.

The trails still hot but Nurdin still at large and now he believed to have masterminded the latest terrorist attack on two luxury hotel in Jakarta which killed nine people, including two suicide bombers, and injuring 55 others.
