Presiden Yudhono Expect Election Violation Treated Fairly

 

President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono Thursday (16/4) expects the law enforcement agency to process the violation on 2009 legislative elections as thorouhly as possible.

According to President Yudhoyono, all suit and complain both large and small must be treated fairly because the Indonesia is law based state then the law and justice must be high respect.

Voter Data for Presidential Election Based on Residency, KPU

 

Abdul Hafiz Anshary Chairman of the General Elections Commission (KPU) Thursday (16/4) said for voter data on 2009 Presidential Elections will be based on residency.

Previously, in legislative election, KPU  voters data based on Identity Card (KTP).

According to Hafiz, this system will be more complicated compare with previous one, but KPU expect the number of voters who participate in Presidential Election will increase compared to legislative election.

■  9 M Vote Count Accumulated by National Tabulation Center

 

Until Thursday (16/4) 4 pm, the number of vote result accumulated by General Elections Commission (KPU) National Tabulation Center was 9,389,021.

KPU had set target that until April 21, the accumulate vote result data from 33 provinces to be displayed at tabulation center expected to be about 70 percent.

However, until Thrusday, the vote result data from two provinces namely Maluku and Papua has not been included in KPU's Tabulation Center.

Jusuf Idrus Tatuhey, Chairman of Maluku Elections Commission (KPUD) said the vote result from Maluku behind schedule to include in National Tabulation Center because the problem such as electronic counting that not work, geographic contraints which made the vote result transportation from polling station to district/municipal office slow, unstable electricity supply and limited number of intelligent character recognition operator.

Thus, although KPU has extended the  time limit for manual counting at the sub-district level from  April 12 to 17, but Maluku Election Commission request more five days extension because it's still difficult to meet the target date for manual counting.
